Bitcoin is back above $80,000 this morning. After days of fear and red candles, the market finally breathed.

But here is what beginners need to understand: not all rebounds are created equal.

Why Did Bitcoin Jump?

Two things happened at once.

First, the U.S. midterm elections ended. Democrats won control of both chambers of Congress . Markets hate uncertainty more than they hate any particular political party. Once the results were clear, the "fear of the unknown" disappeared.

Second, oil prices crashed over 8% on hopes the U.S.-Iran conflict may end soon . Lower oil prices mean lower inflation pressure. That is good for risk assets like crypto.

The result? A massive short squeeze. Over $378 million in short positions were liquidated in just one hour as Bitcoin broke $80,000 . Traders who bet on lower prices got wiped out, and their forced buying pushed the price even higher.

But Here Is the Warning

Before this rally, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw over $1.1 billion in outflows across three trading days . BlackRock's IBIT alone lost $405 million in a single day—its worst since June .

That money left before the rally. It has not come back yet.

The Fear & Greed Index jumped from 34 to 50—from "Fear" to "Neutral" . That is a big improvement. But neutral is not greedy. It just means the panic stopped.

What Beginners Should Watch

The key question: Will ETF money return?

If institutions start buying again, this rally has legs. If they keep selling into the bounce, it could fade.

Also watch the CLARITY Act. With Democrats in control, crypto-friendly legislation may face delays . That is a long-term headwind, not a today problem.

The Bottom Line

This is a relief rally, not a confirmed recovery. Shorts got squeezed. Fear cooled. That is it.

Do not chase green candles. Do not assume the bottom is in. Watch the $80,000 level. If it holds, the market is healing. If it breaks, be patient.
