Binance said Saturday that the exchange has restored backing for up to 90% of roughly $6.3 billion in stolen token assets. The coverage does not mean Binance has recovered 90% of the assets from the attacker. Binance said the exchange has drawn partly on its user protection fund, Futures insurance fund and corporate treasury to replace the assets. Binance pledged to absorb the financial losses rather than pass the losses to users. Binance plans to resume withdrawals Sunday, subject to security checks and final confirmation. The attack's method and perpetrator remain unclear.
