🚨 BINANCE HACKED? PANIC IS SPREADING ACROSS THE MARKET
There has been increasing speculation about Binance's demise, and the crypto community is getting quite scared.
However, let's step back. Is Binance's business so enormous that it's possible to underestimate its operations and security systems?
With ample reserves, the emergency protection fund (SAFU) and a robust worldwide security and compliance system, Binance is the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange.
Yes, it is a $6.3 BILLION security incident and it is not something to be taken lightly.
It is interesting to note, however, that Binance seems to be following suit with their response:
It is reported that around $3 billion worth of assets have been frozen.
🔹 Binance has announced that it will pay for eligible losses with SAFU and company funds.
🔹Security teams are believed to be working to track and recover the assets in conjunction with blockchain analytics firms and law enforcement.
If Binance has any evidence that wallet private keys are not compromised, they have not revealed it.
A new Proof of Reserves is reportedly scheduled to be provided after security work is finished.
But that's not why I am not joining the panic.
This type of security incident requires transparency, accountability and independent oversight. But saying that Binance is "done" too early isn't exactly the right thing to say.
Building confidence on verified reserves, clear communication and measurable recovery efforts is important, not blind trust or unwarranted fear.
Stay calm. Don’t spread unverified claims. Follow the evidence.
