Amazon’s AWS growth accelerates as shares fall after Q3 results

📉 Amazon shares fell about 7% after hours as revenue and EPS missed forecasts. Revenue rose 12% to $201.9 billion, while EPS came in at $1.89 versus $1.97 expected.

☁️ AWS revenue grew around 39% to $46 billion, its fastest pace in nearly five years. Cloud and AI infrastructure demand remained a bright spot.

🏗️ However, planned 2026 capital spending of roughly $220 billion keeps cash generation in focus. AWS growth continues to require substantial infrastructure investment.

🛒 Amazon forecast Q4 revenue of $240–247 billion, with the midpoint below market expectations. Holiday shopping demand is another key factor to watch.

⚖️ Strong cloud growth has yet to ease broader concerns. Cash returns from AI investment and retail performance will help shape the market’s next assessment.
