A lower Solana transaction count after Alpenglow wouldn't, by itself, mean users were leaving.
The Solana Foundation dates this consensus upgrade's mainnet activation to October 21. Validator votes now travel directly between validators rather than as transactions in blocks. A total that used to include those votes is no longer counting the same things.
For an activity comparison, use non-vote transactions per second (TPS) on both sides, with matching time windows and counting rules. Even that counts transactions, not unique users.
