3.7% and 3.4%
September CPI and August PCE
CPI is the freshest print the Fed holds when it decides on Wednesday, October 28
PCE is what it targets, and the September reading only lands Thursday, October 29, together with GDP
so the "next week" data arrives the day after the vote
how I read it:
the vote runs on CPI, and CPI ran hot
the Fed already hiked on September 16, to 3.75% to 4%. Thursday can't change Wednesday, only how December gets talked about
GDPNow had third-quarter growth at 3.5% on October 20. strong growth plus a hot print is no setup for a cut
I'm not in $BTC
, no bag to defend. the number I watch: September PCE above or below 3.4%
Thursday I'll post the PCE print next to Wednesday's Fed line, follow for both
