🚨 Wall Street can close. Your collateral can keep moving.
If you use bStocks as collateral on Binance, this Saturday brings a change worth understanding.
THE MARKET FILE — WEEKEND WATCH
October 24, 2026
🏦 WHAT CHANGED?
Effective today at 00:00 UTC, Binance enables 24/7 dynamic updates to the index used to value bStocks collateral—including weekends and holidays.
The announcement was published on October 20; implementation starts today.
📱 WHY IT MATTERS
During non-trading hours, the index references Binance trading prices, with a dedicated movement cap.
Collateral values and account margin metrics can therefore change while the underlying stock market is closed.
⚠️ WHO SHOULD PAY ATTENTION?
Users holding eligible bStocks as collateral in margin accounts.
Liquidation depends on the account breaching its applicable margin threshold. Simply holding a fully paid bStock in Spot does not create that margin exposure.
📖 MY READ:
24/7 finance gives investors more flexibility. It also changes the assumption that risk can wait until Monday.
Before using a long-term investment to support another position, I’d want to understand how its collateral value is calculated—and how much room the account has for adverse moves.
👀 If this applies to your account, check your collateral and margin metrics before switching off for the weekend.
💬 Would you use a long-term investment as collateral for another trade, or keep those decisions separate?
Where would you draw the line?
Follow THE MARKET FILE for market developments that can affect how an account actually works.
