🚨 A MAJOR INTERNET SECURITY ALERT — SHOULD CRYPTO USERS BE CONCERNED? 🔐

I was reading BBC News today and came across a serious cybersecurity story.

⚠️ Critical vulnerabilities were discovered in PHP, a programming language used by a huge number of websites. Organisations worldwide have taken some websites offline as a precaution while security fixes are applied. Early exploitation attempts have also been reported.

But here's the connection to crypto. 👇

🔴 CRYPTO ISN'T IMMUNE TO WEB SECURITY RISKS

Even if a blockchain itself remains secure, the services surrounding it may depend on conventional web infrastructure.

🏦 Crypto exchanges use websites and account-management systems.

👛 Wallet providers have websites and interfaces that users rely on.

🌐 DeFi platforms depend on websites, APIs and other supporting services.

If a vulnerable system is compromised, the consequences could include stolen information, disrupted services or manipulated website interactions. That does not mean every crypto platform is affected.

🧠 My key takeaway: Blockchain security and website security are two different things. Both matter.

For users, keep devices updated, enable two-factor authentication, and never enter your seed phrase after following an unexpected link.

💬 What do you think? Does the crypto industry pay enough attention to cybersecurity outside the blockchain itself?
