ETHEREUM'S GLAMSTERDAM UPDATE: WHY TESTNETS MATTER 🔬
The Ethereum Foundation announced that the Glamsterdam upgrade is scheduled for the Hoodi testnet on 26 October 2026 at 17:42:48 UTC.
The work includes changes related to block production, block-level access lists and gas accounting.
Here is the crucial distinction:
✅ A testnet provides an environment to test protocol changes.
❌ A testnet schedule is not a mainnet launch announcement.
The Foundation says the mainnet activation date has not yet been decided.
For developers, the next question is how the changes behave during testing. For everyone else, the lesson is simple: read the network and date before sharing an upgrade headline.
