Nvidia Just Scored Another AI Chip Win Against Intel and AMD 🚀

Nvidia is pushing deeper into the central processor market after AI cloud startup Modal agreed to adopt its new Vera processors for hosting AI agents, according to Reuters. Early tests reportedly showed Vera delivering twice the task performance of existing Intel and AMD chips.

That’s a potentially important shift. Nvidia built its AI dominance around graphics processors, but AI agents need more than raw computing power. They also need CPUs to coordinate tasks, manage workloads, and keep complex systems running efficiently.

Modal isn’t abandoning Intel or AMD, though. The startup plans to use a mix of hardware, making performance and cost key factors in future purchasing decisions. Still, Nvidia is targeting a CPU market it estimates could reach $200 billion.

The bigger question for investors is whether Nvidia can turn early performance gains into meaningful revenue. The company reportedly aims to generate at least $20 billion from Vera chip sales this fiscal year, adding another growth opportunity beyond its core AI accelerators.
