Bitcoin holds above 80,000 USD amid inflation pressure and ETF outflows

📉 During October 12–18, $BTC retreated to around 81,000–82,000 USD after briefly approaching 80,000 USD. $ETH and many major altcoins fell more sharply than Bitcoin, reflecting continued caution and an uneven recovery in buying interest.

🏦 Across the five trading sessions from October 12–16, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately 228.4 million USD in net outflows, while Ethereum ETFs lost around 320.1 million USD. Combined withdrawals reached nearly 548.5 million USD, indicating subdued demand through ETFs despite inflows on some days.

🌡️ U.S. September CPI rose 3.7% year over year and 0.6% month over month, with gasoline accounting for more than half of the monthly increase. Energy costs kept inflation and the interest-rate outlook central to risk appetite across crypto markets.

⚖️ Bitcoin’s ability to remain above 80,000 USD suggests buying interest persists around that level, but does not yet confirm a sustained recovery. Steeper altcoin losses also highlight uneven resilience across the market.

🔎 In the coming week, Bitcoin’s response around 80,000 USD and whether ETF flows turn positive will be key indicators. Improving demand alongside rising prices would strengthen the case for a recovery, while persistent outflows could keep Bitcoin and altcoins under pressure.
