ITLG Utility: Adoption Matters More Than Ambition

A digital asset’s utility is best evaluated by examining what users can actually do with it. InterLink’s stated direction is for ITLG to serve functions across several areas of its ecosystem, including ITLX, finance, social applications, and gaming.

The project has also described an ambition for ITLG to support greater transaction activity and accessibility than ITL. These are development objectives, not established outcomes. Whether they are achieved will depend on product delivery, user demand, transaction costs, usability, and the availability of practical applications.

For a meaningful assessment, it helps to separate announced features from operational services. Useful indicators could include the number of functioning applications, actual transaction activity, repeat usage, and the clarity of the token’s role within each product.

A broader ecosystem can create more opportunities for interaction, but simply adding use cases does not guarantee sustainable adoption. Each feature needs to solve a real problem or provide a clear reason for users to participate.

The most informative progress reports would explain which utilities are live, which remain in development, and how their usage is measured.

Which indicator would you consider most useful when assessing whether ITLG utility is developing in practice?
