Verona (formerly XION) launched verUSD on Sept 28, a dollar stablecoin for AI-agent payments. One week in, here's the board.

- Live on 7 chains: Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Avalanche, Optimism, Arbitrum, Celo
- Backed 1:1 by US dollar reserves, issued through Brale, redeemable via Verona
- $100M+ in launch commitments, with $60M+ of it signed revenue meant to run through verUSD

- A reserve attestation report
- How much verUSD actually exists
- Real payment volume against those $60M+ in contracts
- The extra chains promised within weeks
What I find interesting is the order of events. Projects on Verona have settled in USDC for four years, and the coin came after that, not before. If the switch is as quick as Verona says, volume should show up soon. If it doesn't, the $100M stays a headline.
Two things to keep straight. $100M+ is commitments, not coins in circulation. And verUSD isn't built to be held: Burnt Labs' CEO said they're not asking anyone to hold it. Treat it as infrastructure, not an investment thesis.
