$ETH Is Leaving Exchanges: What's Going On? 📉 Only 3.49% of the total $ETH supply now sits on tracked exchanges, according to Santiment. The figure has dropped another 1.16% since June 1, and this summer exchange balances already fell to levels last seen in Ethereum's earliest years. So where are the coins going? 👇 🔒 Into staking Santiment estimates that around 35% of all ETH is already staked, and the flow keeps growing. According to BSCN, about 1.68 million ETH (nearly $4.5 billion) is waiting in the staking entry queue, while only around 154,000 ETH is queued to exit. The entry queue is roughly 10.9 times larger. 🌐 Into DeFi The Ethereum ecosystem holds about $53 billion in DeFi value. Holders are using ETH to lend, provide liquidity and earn yield instead of keeping it on exchanges. 🐋 Into large holders' hands Big players are also taking coins out of circulation. BitMine, for example, reported more than 5 million ETH staked earlier this month. ⚖️ What does it mean? Fewer coins are available for quick sale. Santiment stresses that this alone does not guarantee a price increase. But if demand picks up, buyers will find less ETH on the open market, and less supply could reach the market during the next wave of selling.
