AMD hits 1 trillion market cap for the first time

🚀 AMD shares rose about 9–10% during the September 21 session, briefly reaching the $614–$616 range and pushing the company’s market value above 1 trillion for the first time. The milestone was reached intraday and does not necessarily mean AMD maintained a valuation above 1 trillion at the close.

📈 The rally came as capital rotated back into semiconductor and AI stocks, supported by improving market sentiment and stronger long-term expectations for computing infrastructure demand.

đŸ’» AMD’s growth story continues to be led by Data Center. Q2 revenue reached $11.54 billion, up 50% year over year, while Data Center revenue rose 107% to $6.7 billion. CEO Lisa Su has also said the segment could continue expanding strongly into 2027.

⚖ However, a forward P/E of around 41x suggests that a significant portion of future growth expectations is already priced in. The 1 trillion milestone therefore reflects both AMD’s real progress in AI and the higher expectations it will need to meet in the coming quarters.
