đ„ETHEREUMâS GLAMSTERDAM PASSES KEY TEST FOR A MAJOR CAPACITY EXPANSION
Ethereumâs upcoming Glamsterdam upgrade has cleared another important test, moving closer to a potential major increase in network capacity.
Nethermindâs execution client completed all 2,302 performance tests for block-level access lists, processing 570.7 billion gas in 3 minutes and 15 seconds. On the testnet, the block gas limit was also raised from 60 million to 200 million, allowing significantly more activity per block.
The higher limit is still a test setting, not a confirmed mainnet parameter. Developers are currently targeting Oct. 6 for a Sepolia testnet deployment, while mainnet activation is expected in Q4 2026 with no date confirmed yet.
