Bitcoin drops to around $76,000 as the CLARITY Act faces a key Senate vote.
$BTC C is now trading near its lowest level in the past three weeks, as investors are becoming more cautious ahead of today’s vote on the U.S. crypto market structure bill.
The Senate needs 60 votes for the bill to move forward. Republicans recently added 126 changes requested by Democrats, including new rules around crypto activities by public officials. However, Democrats are still asking for further changes, keeping the outcome uncertain.
Polymarket is currently pricing the chance of the CLARITY Act becoming law in 2026 at around 14%, although this number is changing quickly as the vote gets closer.
The Senate vote is expected today, while tomorrow the Federal Reserve will also announce its interest-rate decision, making the next 24 hours especially important for crypto.
