A day after crypto printed a calm +3% green session, Binance futures opened firmly in the red. As of September 16, 2026, every major perpetual contract is lower on the 24h -- not one of the top 10 is holding green.

Major perps this morning (Binance USD-M, 24h change / price / 24h notional):

- BNB: -0.6% | $715.32 | $0.37B
- TRX: -1.3% | $0.33296 | $0.05B
- BTC: -2.3% | $75,898.90 | $17.74B
- AVAX: -3.0% | $7.286 | $0.12B
- ETH: -3.7% | $2,404.76 | $13.99B
- DOGE: -3.9% | $0.08014 | $0.52B
- SOL: -4.0% | $97.26 | $2.35B
- ADA: -5.2% | $0.1949 | $0.21B
- LINK: -5.2% | $10.881 | $0.16B
- XRP: -8.5% | $1.2933 | $2.38B

Three things stand out on the futures tape today:

1. Total turnover across all 718 USDT-margined perps was about $61.7B in 24h -- a heavy, not sleepy, sell.
2. BTC ($17.74B) and ETH ($13.99B) alone made up roughly $31.7B, about 51% of the entire perp market. Half the risk sits in two contracts.
3. XRP led both the downside (-8.5%) and, among alts, the volume ($2.38B, edging SOL) -- when a name falls hardest on the most turnover, that's usually leverage getting flushed, not quiet drift.

The pattern is textbook risk-off on perps: correlations tighten, everything sells, and the higher-beta alts (XRP, ADA, LINK) fall multiples of BTC's move.

On a red futures open like this, do you watch the coin with the biggest drop-plus-volume (leverage flush) or the one holding best (relative strength) to read what comes next?
