ETH Trails Bitcoin in a Bitcoin-Led Session

Ethereum (ETH) underperformed the wider market over the past 24 hours, easing 0.48% to roughly $2,509 as of 11:59 a.m. KST on September 14, while Bitcoin (BTC) gained 0.38% to $77,556, Monday's market snapshot shows. Total crypto capitalization sat near $2.64 trillion on 24-hour turnover of about $52.78 billion, a mixed tape in which the largest asset set the tone. The sharpest tell was in market share: Bitcoin's dominance expanded 0.18 percentage points to 58.90%, while Ethereum's slice contracted 0.06 points to 11.58%. In our desk's reading, that spread points to short-term liquidity pooling in Bitcoin rather than cascading down the risk curve into the altcoin segment. Top-cap alternatives were mostly softer: XRP managed +0.10%, but BNB lost 0.60%, Solana fell 0.96%, Tron slipped 0.48% and Dogecoin dropped 1.12%, with Hyperliquid nearly flat at +0.06%. The altcoin complex carried a combined market cap of about $1.087 trillion on $36.97 billion of daily volume. Derivatives demand spiked hardest: aggregate futures and options turnover climbed 64.55% in a day to roughly $496.1 billion, signaling traders are bracing for — and trading — elevated near-term volatility. Stablecoin supply held at about $283.95 billion, and stablecoin settlement volume rose 29.38% to around $52.84 billion, evidence that dry powder is parked on the sidelines even as the rotation accelerates. Within the Ethereum ecosystem, decentralized-finance market cap stood at $75.52 billion with DeFi volume up 23.78% day over day. Our own prior tracking had the ETH spot-to-futures volume ratio at 0.15, a six-month high — a structure that preceded this dip and frames how positioning may unwind from here.

Apeing Presale Draws Liquidity Warnings

Off the tape, an Ethereum-based memecoin project called Apeing ($APEING) is running a 33-stage presale whose pricing mechanics deserve scrutiny. Moving from stage 3 at $0.0004 to stage 4 at $0.0005, the seller simply raises the pre-set unit price by 25% — a stair-step schedule, not a price formed by open trading on a decentralized or centralized venue. Some promotional material has framed the project as an early-stage moonshot; the on-chain structure says otherwise. By the project's own disclosed metrics, Apeing had raised only about $80,000 across roughly 270 participating wallets as stage 3 neared its close, and it employs a referral scheme that pays bonus tokens for purchases through affiliate links — meaning headline inflows partially reflect incentivized buying rather than organic demand. Comparisons with established meme ecosystems such as FLOKI, which sustain valuations orders of magnitude larger, stretch the available data well past its limits. The structural risk sits at listing. Presale participants do not receive tokens immediately; they can claim them via smart contract only after all 33 stages complete. If initial listing liquidity is thin, the historical precedent is brutal: the Hunter Biden-linked LAPTOP token collapsed 95–99% within hours of launch as sniper bots and early buyers dumped into a shallow book. Analysts caution that a promised listing target of $0.01 is a team-set figure with no market guarantee, and that the audit status of the contract, lockup schedules and committed liquidity provisions remain unverified. Until those items are disclosed and the token reaches a regulated venue — our guide to the best crypto exchanges covers what to check — APEING remains a claim ticket rather than a liquid asset.

$2,473 Support Under the Microscope

COINOTAG's proprietary 42-indicator composite S/R scoring engine rates the immediate resistance at $2,532.16 at 77/100, driven by the confluence of Fibo 0.114, Ichimoku Tenkan and a fresh MACD cross, with the next shelf at $2,665.99 (76/100). On the downside, the $2,472.87 support scores 76/100 from ATR Lower, S2 and Ichimoku Kijun confluence, ahead of $2,257.51 (67/100). Spot trades at $2,516 with RSI at 61.36 — momentum constructive, though the MACD signal is bearish inside a broader uptrend. Derivatives positioning leans long: funding at 0.0045%, open interest near $10.37 billion and a 1.56 long/short account ratio, with Fear & Greed at 57 (Greed). A daily close above $2,532 opens the path to $2,666; losing $2,473 invalidates the bullish setup and exposes $2,258.
