SO WHY ARE SOME ALTS PUMPING WHILE BITCOIN IS FALLING?
Yesterday we looked at the biggest movers:
$DEXE +24%
$NIL +19%
$ONG +18%
But what is actually happening underneath?
When Bitcoin pulls back, capital doesn't necessarily leave the market instantly.
It can move into smaller, higher-beta assets where relatively small changes in buying pressure can create much larger price moves.
And there's another factor:
Liquidity.
A $10M buy order means very different things for BTC than it does for a smaller altcoin.
That means some of these moves can become amplified by:
• Lower liquidity
• Whale activity
• Short covering
• Coin-specific catalysts
• Traders chasing momentum
So seeing an altcoin up 20% while BTC is down doesn't automatically mean “altseason.”
It can simply mean that money is becoming more selective.
That's why I'm watching what happens after the initial pump.
If volume stays elevated and price holds the gains → potentially real demand.
If volume disappears and the move retraces → probably a liquidity-driven move.
**The pump gets attention.
The follow-through tells you whether it was real.**
