Bitcoin and Ethereum are entering the new week with a stronger institutional bid after the latest flow data showed renewed demand for US-listed spot crypto ETFs. The key market signal is not only price momentum, but the breadth of the move: ETF buying, short-covering, softer dollar dynamics and a more constructive US regulatory calendar are all pointing in the same direction.

Recent reports showed spot Bitcoin ETFs drawing roughly $1.9 billion last week, while spot Ether ETFs attracted about $697 million. Combined, the two categories posted one of their strongest weekly inflow periods since late 2025. The flow rebound matters because it follows a quieter summer tape, where Bitcoin had struggled to sustain breakouts and investors waited for proof that institutional demand was returning.

The macro backdrop also helped. Lower long-term yield expectations and a weaker dollar have improved appetite for scarce, liquid assets, with Bitcoin again trading like a high-beta liquidity instrument. That makes upcoming US rate commentary important: if markets continue to price easier financial conditions, crypto could retain support. If yields rebound sharply, leverage-heavy rallies may become more fragile.

Regulation is another part of the story. US lawmakers and agencies are moving toward clearer digital asset market-structure rules, including debate around the CLARITY Act and CFTC involvement in crypto oversight. For traders, the practical takeaway is that regulatory clarity can reduce uncertainty for banks, asset managers and listed companies considering deeper crypto exposure.

Ethereum is benefiting from the same institutional flow theme, but its setup is different. ETH demand is tied to ETF inflows, staking economics, stablecoin settlement, DeFi activity and layer-2 growth. If Bitcoin continues to lead as the macro asset, ETH may need stronger on-chain activity and fee demand to outperform sustainably.

Risk remains two-sided. A large part of the recent rally was amplified by short liquidations, so traders should watch whether ETF inflows persist for several more sessions. Durable spot demand would confirm the breakout; a quick flow reversal would make the move look more like a positioning squeeze.

Market focus for the next 24 to 72 hours: Bitcoin ETF flow continuity, Ether ETF follow-through, US rate commentary, crypto regulation headlines, stablecoin liquidity and exchange/security incident risk.
