Everyone talks about tokenizing real-world assets.

I keep wondering what happens ten years later.

A bond issued on-chain today may still be alive after several wallet upgrades, contract migrations, identity redesigns and changes to the protocol underneath it. That makes one question more useful to me than TPS: @Dusk_Foundation

Does the asset still mean the same thing?

On Dusk, this gets interesting because the financial state is not just a token balance.

Moonlight uses an account-based model. Phoenix uses private notes, Merkle trees and nullifiers so the network can reject double-spends without exposing the underlying note. Those are different ways of representing valid state

For a regulated asset, that state can also include ownership, investor eligibility, transfer restrictions, disclosures and settlement history

Now extend that over a decade

The protocol changes
Cryptographic libraries change
Issuer keys rotate
Compliance rules change
Smart contracts get replaced

The asset does not disappear because the software moved on.

That is why I think “Lifecycle Compatibility” is a useful way to evaluate RWA infrastructure. It is not an official Dusk term. I mean the ability of an asset to preserve legal, data and cryptographic continuity across years of state transitions and protocol upgrades.

Dusk’s economics make the time horizon worth thinking about too. Its tokenomics target 500M DUSK of emissions across 36 years. Block rewards are split 80% to the generator, 10% to the voting committee and 10% to Dusk, with the generator share including a variable voter-credit component.

Those numbers are usually discussed as tokenomics.

But they also raise a longer-term question: who keeps paying for security, maintenance, audits and upgrades while assets remain alive on the network?

A chain can process state quickly and still fail at preserving state meaning over time.

For a 10-year bond, that may matter more than another TPS benchmark.

That is a very different benchmark from asking how fast the next block arrives. Today.
