When the market gets quiet, most traders start looking for the coin that is already pumping.
I do the opposite.
Before I even consider a trade, I want to see three things agree.
1️⃣ MARKET DIRECTION
First, I check Bitcoin.
If $BTC is moving sideways, I don't immediately assume that every altcoin is ready to break out.
A strong altcoin move is much more interesting when Bitcoin isn't aggressively selling off.
Right now, BTC has been consolidating around the low-$60K area, so I'm paying more attention to relative strength than simple green candles.
2️⃣ RELATIVE STRENGTH
This is where things become interesting.
If the whole market is weak but one coin refuses to fall as much as the others, I put it on my watchlist.
And if the market starts recovering and that same coin begins outperforming?
Now I have something worth investigating.
That's why I'm watching:
$HYPE — currently showing stronger behavior than several major altcoins.
$BNB — important because of its connection to the Binance ecosystem.
$SOL — one of the major assets I want to see regain momentum before becoming more aggressive.
This doesn't mean “BUY.”
It means:
WATCH → CONFIRM → THEN DECIDE.
3️⃣ WAIT FOR CONFIRMATION
This is probably the most important part.
I don't want to buy simply because a chart looks exciting.
I want to see:
📈 Price breaking an important level
📊 Volume increasing
🔥 Buyers actually following the move
If price breaks resistance but volume doesn't follow, the breakout can easily fail.
And that's where many traders get trapped.
👀 SO WHAT AM I WATCHING?
If I had to choose one chart to investigate first, I'd start with the asset showing the strongest relative strength.
But I wouldn't blindly enter.
I'd wait for confirmation.
That's the difference between:
This coin is pumping!
and
This setup is actually interesting.
