WHEN A SCREENSHOT MADE ME SLOW DOWN

The more I look back on that transaction, the more I notice one detail worth thinking about: a payment confirmation screenshot can create a sense of certainty that is different from what is actually reflected in the account.

I was matched with a seller who had a business badge, so I felt more reassured than usual. Even so, I still checked the completion rate and number of transactions before confirming. Everything seemed fine until the seller proactively sent me a screenshot confirming the payment. I opened my banking app and there was no money!

I did not release the crypto and told the seller that I was still waiting. The seller kept pushing me to proceed immediately, even repeating the request twice in one message. To me, that pressure was not a reason to move faster, but a sign that I needed to check more carefully. About fifteen minutes later, the money actually arrived in my account, later than the time shown on the screenshot.

If the transaction had truly been paid, my bank balance should have reflected it in some way. I expected to see the money appear or at least some clear indication.

Still, I did not have enough evidence to rely on the screenshot alone. Even though the transaction ultimately had no problem, I kept the conversation on Binance and later saved the Order ID and thread. If I ever need to review it again, I do not want to rely only on my memory or a screenshot.

It made me think about it differently: in P2P, the buyer and seller can be relying on two different sources of information. One side trusts the screenshot, while the other has to rely on the actual balance before making a decision. This is only how I interpret it, and I am open to changing my view if future data shows a different story.

I’m curious whether anyone else also checks their actual balance independently of a screenshot. Or am I overthinking a transaction that ultimately went through normally?#BinanceP2PAnToan @Binance Vietnam $AKE $XPIN
