In P2P trading, even a few repeated messages such as “send it quickly” or “release it now” can make me feel like I have to make a decision immediately. I used to think this was simply the other party trying to complete the order faster. But I have come to realize that speed should never take priority over verifying the information.
When I feel pressured, I go back to the basics: check the order, verify the payment information, check the bank account, and review the conversation. I do not want the feeling of “running out of time” to make me skip a step that I would normally complete.
Interestingly, slowing down does not necessarily make the transaction more difficult. It simply gives me enough space to distinguish between something that needs to be handled quickly and something that needs to be checked carefully. A normal transaction should not require me to skip important verification steps.
If the other party asks me to move to another platform or change the payment account while I am trading, the pressure makes me want to double-check even more. I do not need to argue. I can simply pause the transaction and use the official channels if something is unclear.
I also understand that not every reminder is necessarily suspicious. The other party may simply want to complete the trade quickly. But I believe safety comes from not allowing speed to make the decision for me.
In P2P trading, taking one minute to slow down at the right moment can be far more valuable than completing a trade one minute faster.
