I used to treat the name beside a bank transfer like background information.
honestly... not anymore.
on Binance P2P, i read that name as part of the payment path.
imagine i am selling through a 7,250,000 VNĐ Order.
the counterparty profile looks fine.
the completion history looks normal.
the Order shows one payment identity.
then 7,250,000 VNĐ arrives from a different name.
the amount is perfect.
the money is visible.
still, my finger does not touch Release.
why?
because “money received” and “payment details verified” are two different checks.
a mismatch does not automatically tell me what happened.
it tells me to stop guessing.
so i keep the crypto in Escrow, compare the Order details again, keep the conversation inside Binance P2P and ask Binance Support when i cannot verify the situation myself.
i also keep the Order ID, payment proof and relevant chat history.
nothing dramatic.
just a clean trail.
that habit has changed what i value in P2P.
i would rather lose a slightly better rate than explain later why i deliberately ignored information that did not match.
and from the buyer side, i apply the same discipline: use the payment details shown for the Order and avoid casually changing accounts halfway through.
my personal standard is simple...
the amount tells me how much arrived.
the name helps me understand where it came from.
i want both to make sense before the trade moves forward.

if the full payment arrived but the account name did not match, would you Release immediately... or pause and verify first?
