Ethereum Just Lost the Momentum Battle — But Is the Pullback Over?
Ethereum is trading around $1,894, down roughly 1.5% today after failing to hold the $1,920 area.
The interesting part isn’t just the drop.
ETH had been consolidating around $1,910–$1,930 for several sessions, with the short-term moving averages keeping price supported. But today’s sell-off pushed ETH below the 7, 25 and 99-period moving averages on the 1H chart, while selling volume picked up.
That changes the short-term picture.
Still, this doesn’t automatically mean the bigger trend is broken. ETH remains close to the psychological $1,900 zone, and the market is also dealing with thin August liquidity and broader macro uncertainty. Recent market commentary has pointed to tighter credit conditions and uncertainty around Federal Reserve policy as pressure on ETH.
There’s another interesting side to the story: recent data suggests ETH supply has been moving off exchanges while stablecoins are rotating into the Ethereum ecosystem. That could become important if buyers return with stronger momentum.
The next few sessions could tell us a lot.
