Before looking deeply into this issue, I always thought that Binance P2P was simply a place to buy and sell crypto and that if I chose the right counterparty, trading large amounts would not be too concerning.
At that time, I had never really verified how Binance P2P’s protection mechanisms worked when a trade encountered a problem. Most of my perspective came from common knowledge, rather than examining escrow, internal chat and the appeal mechanism myself.
Therefore, I decided to go back and research more carefully how Binance P2P protects users in high-value trades.
The result was more nuanced than I expected.
There was one point that was consistent with what I had thought: choosing the right counterparty is still extremely important.
But what surprised me was that Binance P2P actually has more layers of protection than I had thought.
Escrow locks the crypto in the trade, internal chat records all exchanges, while the appeal mechanism helps handle abnormalities.
The real issue is not whether the system has protection tools or not.
It is whether users follow the proper process so that those tools can truly have value.
If you leave Binance to chat on Telegram, Zalo or transfer money outside the system, that layer of protection is significantly weakened.
But if the trade still takes place on Binance, the crypto is held in escrow, and the evidence is fully recorded, users still have a basis to open an appeal.
That completely changed the way I view the safety of Binance P2P.
Looking back, I realized that I used to think that simply choosing the right person was enough.
The research process did not make me think that Binance P2P is completely safe.
It only made me realize that the system has layers of protection, but users must follow the process for those layers of protection to work.
Therefore, my perspective on Binance P2P has also changed.
