The Pattern I Notice Right Before Every P2P Scam Attempt

Rushed. That’s the first word that comes to mind when I think back on every sketchy attempt I’ve run into on Binance P2P.

Here’s the thing about red flags, they’re rarely dramatic. A normal trade has a certain rhythm to it, both sides confirm steps, wait for escrow, take their time. The moment that rhythm breaks is usually the moment something’s off.

Take urgency. A normal buyer waits for you to verify payment properly, because they know that’s just how the process works. Someone trying to rush you past that same step, “can we finish in five minutes,” “hurry, I’m about to lose signal,” isn’t in a hurry by accident. They’re counting on you skipping the one check that would stop them.

Or take the payment account. A normal trade uses the account shown on the order screen, start to finish, no exceptions. The moment someone says “actually, send it to this other account instead, mine’s acting up,” that single sentence should end the trade right there, no further discussion needed.

Then there’s the pull off-platform. A Tele handle dropped casually, “just in case the app is slow,” sounds like convenience. It isn’t. It’s a way of stepping outside the chat log, the Order ID, the entire complaint system that only protects you while the trade stays inside Binance P2P.

I keep one rule for all three of these. No explanation required, no benefit of the doubt given. I pause immediately, screenshot the chat and order screen, and if anything already moved, I open Appeal right away with that evidence attached.

Small habit. But it’s the difference between a trade Binance Support can actually step in and fix, and one where there’s nothing left to point to.
