The first thing that caught my attention on $ZEC was not the recent strength. It was where that strength is happening.
ZEC has been outperforming BTC over the broader 7-day window, while Open Interest has also been rising. On paper, that looks like fresh participation. But price is still sitting below an important resistance area around $525.70, and current volume is not expanding enough for me to treat the move as a confirmed breakout.
That changes the trade completely.
Buying simply because ZEC looks stronger than BTC would mean entering before the market has proved it can actually accept higher prices. Rising OI underneath resistance can support a breakout, but it can also create trapped positioning if buyers fail to push through.
The cleaner setup for me is patience.
If ZEC can get real acceptance above $525.70, then return to that area and hold it as support, the breakout becomes much more interesting. A strong 15M/1H reaction from the retest would give better confirmation than chasing the first green candle.
On the other side, losing the ~$498 area would weaken the bullish structure and tell me the market is not ready.
So my current view is bullish only conditionally. The edge is not “ZEC will pump.” The edge is knowing exactly what price must prove before taking the risk.
Would you trust the first breakout above $525.70, or wait for the level to survive a retest before treating it as real acceptance?
