I have seen the same request several times while trading on Binance P2P: let’s continue the conversation outside the platform because it will be easier. My answer is always no.
The reason is simple. Binance P2P keeps the seller’s crypto in escrow until the payment process is confirmed. The in-app chat also keeps a complete record of the conversation, which can become important evidence if a dispute happens. If something goes wrong, either party can submit an appeal and Binance P2P support can investigate based on the information available inside the platform.
Moving the conversation to Telegram, WhatsApp, or another channel means giving up these protections. There is no reason to do that, especially when Binance P2P does not charge trading fees.
My approach is straightforward: keep all communication inside Binance P2P, verify payments directly through my banking app, and check the counterparty’s verification status and trading history before accepting an order.
I also save the order number and important chat screenshots after each transaction. It takes less than a minute but can be extremely useful later.
For me, convenience is never more important than security. If a counterparty insists on taking the conversation elsewhere, I simply cancel the trade.
