Iran Criticizes Trump’s “Theater Diplomacy” as Hormuz Disagreements Persist

🇮🇷 Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran’s parliament speaker and a key figure in the negotiation process, criticized President Donald Trump’s approach of combining military threats with calls for talks, describing it as repeated “theater diplomacy.”

🤝 The remarks came after Trump said a major attack had been called off and that the basic outlines of an agreement were taking shape. Tehran, however, has yet to signal that the two sides have significantly narrowed their differences over arrangements for the Strait of Hormuz.

🛢️ Oil prices remained higher as markets continued to price in supply risks, with Brent trading around $83 per barrel and WTI near $78.

📈 Until clear terms for reopening Hormuz are agreed, geopolitical risk premiums are likely to remain an important driver of oil prices in the near term.
