went to check the exact number on babylon's bug bounty program and got three different maxes depending on which page i looked at — $500k on immunefi's current scope page, $1m in a bitrue writeup from december 2024, and $2m from immunefi's own twitter account, also december 2024. what's consistent across all of them though is the total pool: a $3 million hard cap for the whole program, first come first served once it's spent, no matter how many critical bugs turn up after.
so whichever per-bug number's actually current — i'm honestly not sure which one is right now — the ceiling on the whole thing stays fixed at $3m while tvl's sitting around $3 billion. that's not a knock on the program itself, immunefi's a solid platform and audits plus the covenant setup cover other angles. it's just that "up to $x per critical bug" reads a lot more reassuring than "$3m total, shared, first come first served" does. at what point does a fixed-cap bounty pool stop scaling with the tvl it's supposed to be protecting? 🤔
