Here's where major assets sit from their peaks:

$JPM flat at highs
$AAPL -1%
$SPX -3%
$NVDA -13%
$AMZN -17%
$GOOGL -22%
$META -25%
Gold -28%
$MSFT -31%
$TSLA -37%
$PLTR -42%
$NFLX -48%
$BTC -50%
Silver -52%
$MSTR -83%

Notice the pattern? The boring bank is fine. The mega-cap tech names are bruised but standing. The speculative darlings got obliterated.

This is what always happens when risk appetite evaporates. The stuff people bought because it went up keeps going down. The stuff people own because it makes money holds up.

Drawdowns aren't permanent losses unless you panic-sell or you're in garbage that never recovers. Most of these will come back. Some won't. The difference is usually obvious in hindsight and should've been obvious beforehand.

If you're down 50%+ on something, ask yourself: did I buy this because I understood it, or because everyone else was buying it?
