I tried testing the optimization of an EMA Crossover for 14 crypto assets, and here are the results. Systematic dual-EMA crossover backtest (buy when the fast EMA crosses above the slow EMA, sell when it crosses below), fee 0.15% per side, for spot, daily timeframe. Tested on 14 assets: BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL, XMR, DOGE, ADA, XRP, LINK, TRX, XLM, ZEC, BCH, PAXG. Most cover complete history since listing (2000โ€“3200+ candles per asset). Methodology: grid search EMA fast(5-40) x slow(20-200), 90 combinations per asset, take the highest return, compare versus Buy & Hold. Key findings: 1. 13 out of 14 assets, EMA crossover outperforms Buy & Hold 2. Optimal parameters are NOT universal. Each asset has different combinations (BTC 10/30, ETH 20/26, SOL 9/26, XMR 12/20, etc.). There is no โ€œone setting for allโ€ 3. Win rate is low (25โ€“50%) but still profitable in a typical trend-following way: a few big trades carry the overall return 4. BNB actually LOSSES versus Buy & Hold. This shows the strategy doesnโ€™t always work; it depends on the character of price movements of each asset Each crypto asset has a different EMA Crossover optimization. This optimization may change as more price data accumulates and continues to grow for testing materials. This method optimizes the EMA Crossover using historical data that has already happened. Methodological warning (important, donโ€™t skip): This is purely in-sample optimization; it hasnโ€™t been walk-forwarded to out-of-sample. Large returns in historical backtests DO NOT guarantee the same performance going forward. Overfitting is a real risk. As a comparison, RSI and MACD were also tested using the identical methodology and consistently lost to EMA on the same data. This is an independent research for learning, not an invitation or trading signal. Screenshots of the results are attached below. #EMA #Backtest #TradingStrategy #CryptoResearch #DYOR

This is the first thing to check. โœ… Price above EMA = Bullish โŒ Price below EMA = Bearish Example is Your chart: Price = 60,276 EMA20 = 60,533 Price is below EMA20, so short-term trend is bearish. 2. EMA and how it works

EMA stands for Exponential Moving Average.
It is a line plotted on a chart that shows the average price, but it gives more importance (weight) to the most recent prices.
Think of EMA as a guide that answers one simple question:
"Which side is stronger right nowโ€”buyers or sellers?"
Instead of watching every candle individually, EMA helps you see the overall trend.
This is one of the most important things to master in trading. EMA (Exponential Moving Average) is not just a lineโ€”it tells you the trend, momentum, and dynamic support/resistance.
Using your chart as an example:
Yellow = EMA 20 (short-term trend)
Pink = EMA 50 (medium-term trend)
Purple = EMA 200 (long-term trend)
1. Price Above or Below EMA?
This is the first thing to check.
โœ… Price above EMA = Bullish
โŒ Price below EMA = Bearish
Example is Your chart:
Price = 60,276
EMA20 = 60,533
Price is below EMA20, so short-term trend is bearish.
2. EMA Slope
Look at whether the EMA is pointing up or down.
โ†—๏ธ Upward slope = Buyers are strong.
โ†˜๏ธ Downward slope = Sellers are strong.
Your chart:
EMA20, EMA50 and EMA200 are all sloping downward.
This means the overall trend is still bearish.
3. EMA Order
The order of the EMAs tells you how strong the trend is.
Strong Bull Trend
Price > EMA20 > EMA50 > EMA200
Strong Bear Trend
Price < EMA20 < EMA50 < EMA200
Your chart matches the bearish order.
4. EMA Crossovers
When a smaller EMA crosses a larger EMA:
EMA20 crossing above EMA50 = Bullish signal.
EMA20 crossing below EMA50 = Bearish signal.
Never trade on the crossover aloneโ€”wait for price confirmation.
5. EMA as Support and Resistance
In an uptrend:
Price often falls to EMA20 or EMA50, then bounces.
In a downtrend:
Price rises to EMA20 or EMA50, then gets rejected.
On your chart, price has bounced but is struggling near EMA20, showing it is acting as resistance.
6. Distance Between Price and EMA
If price is far above the EMA, it may pull back.
If price is far below the EMA, it may rebound.
If price stays close to the EMA, the market is consolidating.
A simple checklist before every trade
Is the price above or below EMA20?
Is EMA20 sloping up or down?
Is EMA20 above or below EMA50?
Where is EMA200?
Is price respecting or breaking the EMA?
If 4 out of 5 answers are bullish, look for long trades.
If 4 out of 5 answers are bearish, look for short trades.

The EMA 7 just crossed above the 25 on the daily, and price is holding above both after building a solid base near $0.0040. Momentum is clearly shifting, but there's still resistance from the EMA 99 overhead โ€” so the big trend isn't fully bullish yet.

That said, the risk/reward from this zone is compelling, especially with volume starting to pick up. Are you grabbing some here or waiting for a cleaner reclaim of the 99 EMA?

Not financial advice. Always manage your risk.
