Members of the crypto community have expressed support for a post calling on Elon Musk to remove the profile on the platform that claims to belong to Satoshi Nakamoto, the legendary creator of Bitcoin (BTC).
On October 3, X profile Pledditor stated that the account with the username Satoshi Nakamoto and "Bitcoin" should be removed for violating the platform's terms of service by using "misleading and deceptive" identities.
Pledditor continued to highlight areas of the terms and conditions that it believed the accounts were violating.
There is a specific policy for misleading or deceptive identities in the terms and conditions of the X platform. "[Users] may not misuse the identity of individuals, groups, or organizations by using a false identity to deceive others."
Aside from the controversy over Satoshi Nakamoto's real identity, the account was allegedly run by an X user named Andy Rowe in 2018.
The account had been silent since October 31, 2018. But on October 2 this year, the account made a new post saying "Bitcoin is a precursor machine" and explained that it would examine "different aspects not clearly mentioned in the white paper" in the coming months.
Members of the crypto community supported Pledditor's post, calling the account "a shame" and that it "needs to happen now." One user said he had previously tried to reach administrators about these accounts but was ignored.
Satoshi's true identity still remains a mystery, and many claims have been made over the years. The most important claim regarding Satoshi's identity comes from Craig Wright.
