⚡ TL;DR

  • KAS trades near $0.030, close to the bottom of its 2026 range and about 86% below its ATH.

  • The tech keeps shipping: the Toccata hard fork is live, token standards are final, and new security tools are out.

  • The price hasn’t followed the development progress. The market is waiting to see real usage.

📊 Market Snapshot

  • Price: $0.02984, up 1.53% over 24 hours

  • Market cap: about $808.5M

  • 7D: about −8.6% (from $0.0326 on Oct 31)

  • 30D: about −26% (from $0.0405 on Oct 7)

  • ATH: $0.2074, reached in August 2024

  • Max supply: approximately 28.7 billion coins

  • Market mood: BTC dominance is 59.9% and the Fear & Greed Index reads 32/100. That’s fear, and fear is usually hard on small-cap altcoins.

📉 Price Action: How We Got Here
For most of the year KAS moved sideways. It spent most of 2026 between $0.026 and $0.035. In mid-May it reached about $0.038, then slid toward $0.026 in June.

October looked promising at first. KAS broke out of a months-long channel and opened the month around $0.043–0.044. The breakout didn’t hold. By mid-October the price was back at $0.036. On Oct 28 it bounced to $0.0375, and the next day it fell back to $0.034.

In November the drop continued. On Nov 5, KAS hit a low of $0.0294 and closed at $0.0295 on $11.6M volume. On Nov 6 it closed at $0.0300.

Key levels
🟢 Support: $0.0294–0.0300 (this week’s low), then $0.026 (the 2026 low)
🔴 Resistance: $0.0320–0.0327, then $0.0336, then $0.0375 (the Oct 28 high), then $0.044 (the October breakout zone)

Bulls want a daily close above $0.0327 to stop the lower-highs pattern. If $0.029 breaks, a retest of $0.026 becomes the main scenario.

🛠 Fundamentals: What Kaspa Has Shipped

1. Toccata hard fork (live since June 30)
This is the biggest upgrade in Kaspa’s history. It added native smart contracts (covenants) and zero-knowledge proof verification to the mainnet. Toccata also introduced KRC-20 tokens and ZK verification on the base layer, so Kaspa is no longer only a payments chain. It’s now a programmable proof-of-work L1.

2. Node upgrade v2.1.0 (Sep 22)
This was a mandatory release for node and mining pool operators. It added chunked syncing and lowered the maximum message size to 256 MB.

3. Token standards finalized (Oct 21)
Three optional conventions, KCC-1, KCC-2 and KCC-20, were finalized to standardize how tokens and apps behave on the base layer.

4. Security tooling (Nov 2)
Kaspero Labs released kaspa-redteam, an open-source simulator that helps developers test SilverScript covenant contracts before deployment.

5. “Kaspa Dollar” proposal (Nov 3)
This is a technical proposal for a native, miner-supported stablecoin on Kaspa. It’s a design document, not a live product. Don’t treat it as a launch.

⛏ Tokenomics & Mining

  • On Nov 5 the block reward fell from 2.06 to 1.94 KAS, a scheduled 5.6% monthly emission cut. Hashrate held near 363 PH/s.

  • At 10 blocks per second, that’s about 1.68M new KAS per day, worth roughly $50K at the current price. Emission is now small.

  • Fair launch: every KAS was mined, with no team allocation and no investor reserves.

  • Institutional signals: Zodia Custody supports cold storage for KAS, and MARA Holdings has mined tens of millions of KAS at its facilities in Texas. In Europe, Valour offers an ETP that tracks KAS.

🗺 Roadmap: What’s Next

  • DAGKnight: the next-generation consensus protocol that will replace GHOSTDAG. It’s the key to higher block rates. Be careful with dates, though: DAGKnight has been pushed back several times.

  • Higher block rates: the plan steps through 25 and 40 BPS on the way to the final target, which is 100 BPS.

  • vProgs: verifiable programs that run natively on L1. Until they arrive, EVM apps are being built on L2s like Igra and Kasplex.

  • Risk to watch: commentators have pointed to a rivalry between three programmability projects: Kasplex’s ZK-EVM, Igra, and the core team’s vProgs. A split ecosystem can slow adoption.

⚖️ Bull vs Bear

🐂 Bull case

  • Kaspa delivers what it promises (Crescendo, then Toccata)

  • Emission is close to zero, so there’s little selling pressure from miners

  • The fair launch story is clean, and institutional infrastructure (custody, ETP, public miners) exists

  • The price has fallen far behind the development progress

🐻 Bear case

  • Lower highs since early October, and the price sits at the bottom of the range

  • There’s still little real on-chain demand from DeFi or tokens

  • The DAGKnight timeline keeps slipping

  • The overall market is in “fear” mode and BTC dominance is near 60%, which drains liquidity from altcoins

🎯 My Take
Kaspa is a classic “tech vs chart” story. Development is moving, but the market wants proof of usage: TVL, KRC-20 activity and real apps. Until then, KAS is likely to stay range-bound between $0.026 and $0.0375. A daily close above $0.0327 would be the first sign that buyers are back.
