Sending $200 abroad for 2.18%? That's the new IMF number for stablecoin remittances.

An IMF study (via COINOTAG) puts the cost of a $200 stablecoin remittance at 2.18%, well below what traditional money-transfer channels typically charge on small transfers.

While the market argues over hacks and ETF outflows, this is the quiet use case that keeps growing: cheap, fast cross-border payments on $USDT and $USDC rails.

My take: the real test is the last mile. Cheap on-chain transfer means little if cashing out locally is costly.

Would you use stablecoins to send money home, and what would convince you: lower fees, speed, or easy cash-out?
