SUI is sitting on $1.00 — and this week decides whether that floor holds or cracks.

Sui just had its loudest 48 hours in months: a new CEO, a Samsung launch days away, and a $30M bet on AI data. Yet the price is down ~9.5% in seven days. That disconnect is why traders are watching this coin right now.

First, the shake-up. On October 16, Mysten Labs announced Kevin Boon is taking over as CEO. Founder Evan Cheng stays as CTO and will personally lead a new internal AI division. A founder stepping sideways to run AI while a new CEO takes the wheel is a statement about where Sui thinks the next wave comes from.

Then Samsung. Samsung Wallet adds USDC transfers for eligible US Galaxy users in the last week of October, running on Sui and Solana. Precision matters: that's 82 million compatible devices, not 82 million users — and USDC only at launch. The SUI token isn't in the wallet, and transfers are gasless. What Sui gets is real distribution: stablecoin activity on its rails, in front of a mainstream audience.

Quieter: the Sui Foundation committed $30M to bring DATA Network, an AI training-data registry, onto Sui with Walrus as its data layer. Not an acquisition — a commitment, with no completion date yet.

Now the chart. SUI trades around $1.01, and Kraken's 24-hour low printed at $1.00. This is the line.

Hold $0.98–$1.00 and the recovery setup stays alive. Lose it and the next real floor sits near $0.90. Above, $1.03–$1.05 is the first wall — reclaim it and $1.15–$1.20 comes into view, then $1.30–$1.34. Pull up the $SUI chart: a coin coiling on its most important number.

Note this: Samsung picked two chains — Sui and $SOL. Solana has the far bigger ecosystem; Sui is the challenger proving its tech converts into usage. Every Samsung headline from here is a scoreboard for both. And $BTC holding above $80K into a low-liquidity weekend is what gives altcoins room to run on their own news.

We've seen this movie. In September 2024, SUI reclaimed $1 on institutional news and ran to $2 within a month, then $4+ by year-end. Same level, same kind of catalyst stacking up. History doesn't repeat — but $1 has been Sui's launchpad before.

The honest other side: SUI is still ~81% below its ~$5.35 all-time high from January 2025. Around 59% of the 10 billion supply is still locked, with the next small unlock around November 1. DeFi TVL is ~$495M and drifting down. The May 2025 Cetus hack left a trust scar, Phantom dropped Sui support in September, and 66% of Binance accounts are long. If $1.00 breaks, the flush could be fast.

Watching: the Samsung rollout in the last week of October, whether $1.00 holds into it, and whether a reclaim of $1.05 brings real volume. News without price follow-through is just noise — and this week, SUI has to prove the story is real.

Not financial advice. DYOR.
