The transfer rollout will allow eligible clients to move supported cryptocurrencies between Schwab accounts and external wallets. Access is being introduced in stages with clients required to register and approve withdrawal addresses before making transfers.
Schwab, which manages more than $13 trillion in client assets, is also preparing to expand its cryptocurrency offering. The company plans to add
Solana (SOL),
Avalanche (AVAX) and
Chainlink (LINK)
by the end of 2026 broadening its range beyond Bitcoin and Ether.
Chief Executive, Rick Wurster, has identified cryptocurrency trading as a potential source of transaction-based revenue alongside other emerging investment products. The expansion places Schwab among traditional financial firms seeking to capture retail crypto demand by integrating digital assets into established brokerage services.
