Privacy-preserving payroll infrastructure is entering testnet phase. @primus_labs and AllScale ran a proof-of-concept using FHE (Fully Homomorphic Encryption) on BNB Chain to encrypt salary amounts in stablecoin payments.
Test Parameters:
• 4 sample payments to fictional employees
• Salary amounts encrypted via FHETransform
• Recipients access figures through wallet authorization only
• Company/recipient addresses and timestamps remain public
• Compensation data stays confidential
Market Relevance:
This addresses a real adoption friction point. Corporate treasury departments won't migrate payroll onchain if compensation structures become public record. Current blockchain transparency creates HR/legal liability around pay equity disclosure and competitive intelligence leakage.
If FHE-based payroll scales without sacrificing auditability, it removes a major barrier to enterprise stablecoin adoption. Watch whether this moves beyond testnet to actual corporate treasury pilots.
Risk: FHE compute overhead and key management complexity may limit production viability. Regulatory uncertainty around encrypted financial data remains unresolved in most jurisdictions.
