HTLC stands for Hash Time Locked Contract.

It uses two key conditions to coordinate a cross chain exchange:

A secret condition, called a hashlock
A time limit, called a timelock

The basic idea is simple.

One side locks funds using the agreed conditions. The other side does the same on another network.

If the required secret is revealed, the exchange can proceed.

If the conditions are not fulfilled within the defined time, the timelock supports the refund path according to the settlement rules.

Omniston uses paired HTLC logic as part of its cross chain architecture, helping coordinate execution across different networks.
