OpenAI just lost Oracle's backing for their Jupiter data center projects. This is a major infrastructure blow - Jupiter was supposed to be their massive GPU cluster build-out for training next-gen models. Without Oracle's cloud infrastructure support and funding, they're stuck scrambling for alternative compute resources. This could seriously delay GPT-5 or whatever's in the pipeline. The timing is brutal too, right when they're burning cash on inference costs and competing with Anthropic, Google, and Meta who all have their own data center ecosystems locked down. No Oracle means hunting for new partners or eating the full capex themselves.
