Launch On Base, Accumulate Bittensor 🧠

$TAO and $RENDER are usually bought by people who want exposure to decentralised AI. Bankr just added a way to end up holding one of them without buying it at all.

The update is small on paper. TAO is now selectable as a pool pairing when launching a token on Base through Bankr.

What that actually sets is where the money goes.

The pairing asset determines what a token's swap fees accrue in. Launch paired against TAO and every trade in that pool sends fees back to the creator denominated in TAO, so the project's treasury fills with it as the market trades.

You accumulate the asset by being traded rather than by buying it.

The interesting part is which projects that suits.

An AI or agent project building on Base has had no natural way to hold a position in the network its thesis depends on. Now the treasury can be denominated in TAO and funded by its own volume, without a purchase or a governance vote.

It also changes what TAO is inside a pool. A quote asset gets traded against constantly, not just held, and every new pair adds another place where that happens.

For anyone watching this: the signal will be which categories choose TAO as their pairing, and whether those pairs still show volume a month later. A pairing choice makes a statement instantly and proves nothing on day one.

The caveats are the usual ones. No volume means no fees and no treasury. A TAO-denominated treasury carries TAO's volatility in both directions. And choosing an AI asset as your pair does not make a project AI-native.

But builders on Base can now route their own trading activity into the asset behind decentralised AI, which is a more interesting default than another stablecoin balance.
