Asian stocks rebound slightly ahead of Fed decision
📈 The MSCI Asia-Pacific ex-Japan index rose around 0.2% after four consecutive sessions of losses, as markets largely priced in a 25-basis-point rate hike from the Fed.
📉 Macro pressure eased slightly as the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield slipped below 5%, while Brent crude fell back toward $108 per barrel. However, the rebound remained uneven across the region.
🇰🇷 The KOSPI briefly gained 0.8%, supported by Samsung and SK hynix, before narrowing to around 0.48%. The won weakened beyond 1,370 per dollar while foreign investors remained net sellers, suggesting risk appetite has not fully recovered.
⏳ Attention is now shifting to the Fed’s accompanying guidance, as the degree of hawkishness could determine the next move in yields, the dollar and Asian equities.
