Traditional AMMs spread liquidity across every possible price range. The result? 90% of capital sits idle, collecting near-zero fees, while only a sliver near the spot price does actual work. This was always an obvious inefficiency — but it took time for the market to internalize it.
Concentrated liquidity flipped the model. LPs now deploy capital within custom price bands, compressing the same notional value into a far tighter range. The practical outcome: dramatically higher fee yield per dollar deployed, better price execution for traders, and thinner slippage on large swaps.
