Coldcard now requires additional physical randomness when generating new seeds — at least 65 key presses, 50 dice rolls, or 128 coin flips.
But here’s the part users really need to understand:
A firmware update can improve future seed generation, but it doesn’t automatically fix old vulnerable seeds.
Users who may have been exposed still need to generate a new seed and move their funds.
This is a good reminder that hardware wallets aren’t “set and forget.”
