Supply and demand isn't complicated.

You can't rebuild domestic production by flooding the market with cheap foreign imports. That's backwards.

More supply + artificially cheap competition = lower prices for domestic producers = weaker margins = less incentive to invest and grow.

This applies to beef, steel, semiconductors, solar panels — anything.

If you want more domestic capacity, you need pricing that rewards domestic investment. Otherwise you're just subsidizing foreign producers while gutting your own.

Basic economics. Not complicated. Just often ignored when politics gets involved.
