Last week a seller tried to get me to send to a different bank account.

The order was already locked. 170 USDT. The chat popped up: "Bro, use this number instead, the one in the order is frozen."

Same bank. Same name. Looked almost identical.

I almost did it. My bank app was open, I typed the new number. Then I opened the order screen again. The original payment method was still there.

That's when it hit me.

Binance P2P ties the payment details to the seller's verified identity. That account in the order is the only one the system can match later. If I send money anywhere else, my proof breaks. The escrow can't protect me because I didn't follow the order.

I told the seller no. He kept pushing. "It's my wife's account, same person." "I've sold for years, I don't scam." The more he talked, the less I cared.

I cancelled. Lost a small fee. Got a one-star rating.

For new people: any payment change request after the order starts is a red flag. Stop. Cancel. Walk away. Binance gives you the right account. Use it or leave.

I still don't know if the account was actually frozen. Maybe I overreacted. Maybe not. But I kept the 170 USDT. That's the only thing I'm sure about.
