🚨 LOSING MONEY ON P2P ISN’T ALWAYS ABOUT GETTING HACKED — SOMETIMES IT’S BECAUSE YOU TRUST THE “PAID” BUTTON TOO MUCH!
One of the most dangerous mistakes when selling crypto on Binance P2P is releasing your crypto immediately after the buyer marks the order as “Paid.”
Remember: “Paid” does NOT mean the money has actually reached your bank account.
Here are 4 layers of protection every P2P seller should follow:
1️⃣ Verify the actual payment, not the buyer’s claim
Never rely solely on screenshots, SMS notifications, emails, or messages from the buyer. Open your banking app and check the transaction yourself. If the money has not actually arrived or the transaction is not confirmed by your bank → DO NOT release your crypto.
2️⃣ Check the sender and amount
Even when money appears in your account, don’t ignore inconsistencies. Verify the exact amount, sender information, and transaction details. If anything looks unusual or does not match the order, pause and verify before proceeding.
3️⃣ Never let the counterparty pressure you
Messages like “I already paid,” “The system is delayed,” “Release first and it will arrive,” or “I’ll file a complaint if you don’t release” are NOT proof of payment.
In P2P trading, the biggest risk comes from releasing crypto before you have independently verified the payment.
4️⃣ Keep evidence if a dispute happens
Do not delete the chat, move the transaction outside the platform, or follow instructions from unknown accounts. Keep the order details, bank transaction records, and relevant conversations so you have proper evidence if you need support.
📌 THE GOLDEN RULE OF P2P:
If the payment has not been independently confirmed in your bank account, your crypto stays where it is.
Safe P2P trading is not about being the fastest person to release an order. It is about never skipping verification just because someone is rushing you.
